The kids of Abetenim like to come into the arts village and hang out with us "obronis" (white people). We have exchanged games, stories, and have already created a lot of memories.  They love to teach us Twi words and share wisdom about their culture.  I tend to not like being around a lot of children, so it has taken some getting used to.  But they are usually good listeners and will leave you alone if you ask them to.  I might have been too nice to them when I first arrived because they come to our door yelling "nee-ko nee-ko!" So I will come out and play with them.  It's too cute.

Akwasi "last one"  This kid is a little trouble making punk that for some reason I just can't help but have a soft spot for.

Sweet Sandra and Adorable Ama don't speak much English, but are fascinated by simple things like string bracelets and discarded items so it's easy to get along with them.

Dauda (Mauda's brother) is the voice of reason amongst the kids and is a well behaved and smart kid.  He is also a killer African drum player! I don't have any pictures yet of younger brother Ukasha, but take 5 years and 12 inches off Dauda and you've got him.  He's polite and has a laugh that is so contagious! Had to give him a shout out.

There are tons of kids, and it's only week two! You'll be seeing more for sure! :)
