There are a lot of animals on the compound. Each morning I am woken up by a symphony of chickens, roosters, goats, sheep, bugs, birds, and lizards. You may be wondering how you hear lizards. Well...they live in our ceiling so we hear them scurrying around up there! Sometimes there is an event of catching a chosen chicken. The cook will chose one of the birds specifically and a group of the local guys will literally chase the chicken around the site. It is quite hilarious to watch and listen to. The guys attempt a strategy of cornering the chicken, but those suckers are fast!! The kids join in and excite the event with their laughter. After some exhaustion the whole site feels a sense of accomplishment! The goats seem to be constantly pregnant and the chickens lay eggs all the time (but don't touch a chicken egg!! You'll have to go to church and ask for forgiveness). The baby animals are so cute but once they reach the "teenager" phase in my opinion their cuteness has expired. :) The bugs, insects and slugs are superb! I am fascinated by these creatures and hope to be able to capture more pictures. I have seen snails the side of grapefruits and although the I'm fascinated I am also very weirded out. It's awesome!! Hope you all enjoy these animal pics from around the village!

This is my favorite lil goat. I call him dippy.
