September 26- I depart Rome and take a train to Milan where I meet Kevin. We have been excited about this "Amazing Race" adventure because of how many different cities we will traveling through...We totally won the race! -We had an awesome time. I can confidently say year 29 started off GREAT!

There is an Architectural Gem nestled in the Swiss
mountains. We learn about Therme Vals designed by Peter Zumthor as an exquisite example of light, material, and spatial order. Architectural promenade, the relationship to water, and the phenomenological quality of this space proved to be even more beautiful in person. The building is a hotel and spa featuring a series of baths/pools inspired by traditional bathing practices. The pools are different temperatures, colors, sizes, entry conditions, even smells. There is no way you can fully appreciate this dance of expereiences in books and pictures. The spirit of this space and place was just unreal. We stayed in the hotel/spa and I felt like roalty. Robes and slippers, champagne, and special entry into the spa, a sweet Starchitect designed room, the works. SO Fun!
TO ZURICH!

"The team has reached their checkpoint after completing the rejuvenating/pampering leg of the race. Their journey continues to Zurich where they follow several
clues leading them through plant-tastic places and finding gypsy travelers in the wild "
